Project Summary
In 2019, Grassroot People and Gender Development Center implemented a Capacity Building Programme for Community Activists on Maternal and Child Health with support from Mamaye / Evidence for Action Project.
The programme was designed to strengthen the knowledge and advocacy skills of community activists on maternal, newborn, and child health issues. The training focused on promoting community participation, improving awareness on healthcare services, and encouraging accountability for better maternal and child health outcomes.
Our Intervention
- Conducted capacity-building workshops for community activists on maternal and child health issues.
- Trained participants on community advocacy, health awareness, and citizen engagement.
- Facilitated discussions on maternal healthcare, child survival, nutrition, immunization, and preventive healthcare practices.
- Promoted the importance of accessing quality healthcare services for pregnant women and children.
- Encouraged community-driven action and monitoring to improve healthcare delivery.
